Do Design is its inaugural year in what will become an annual event during the Toronto International
Design Festival. The Dundas West streetscape becomes a temporary showcase for the works of
individual, contemporary designers, presented in a wide variety of business venues along the Trinity
Bellwoods Business Improvement Association (reaching along Dundas Street West from Bathurst to
Grace Streets).

The communal aspect of the event provides a strong context, variety and discovery for the design works
presented within a surprising array of venues. An intrinsic part of the visitor’s experience is his or her
enjoyment of the street and engaging with contemporary design in fresh ways. The venues themselves
highlight the diversity of the neighbourhood including boutiques, cafes, restaurants, furniture showrooms,
bars and art galleries, as well as a hardware store and architectural office. Numerous pieces can be seen
from the windows of venues outside of regular hours. Join Do Design on Saturday, January 29,
2011 for public opening receptions held in various venues.
