Original fine art prints are an exceptionally versatile choice for any interior design project – whether you are a designer working on a commercial or residential interior, or simply decorating your own home. Not only are fine art prints an economical choice for any interior design project, but when sourcing original artwork you have the opportunity to support Canadian artists. As Canada’s leading printmaking centre, the Open Studio Print Sales Gallery represents over 150 Canadian artists whose artwork can be found in individual and corporate collections the world over, from prestigious addresses such as Canada House (London, U.K.) to even the most modest, private homes in Toronto.
Open Studio Print Sales Gallery is hosting a special presentation and studio tour, Enhance Your Interiors with Original Fine Art Prints, on Saturday, January 21, 2017, 10am-12pm, showcasing a selection of corporate and residential interior design projects featuring prints by Open Studio Print Sales Gallery artists. Original prints will be on view to see first-hand the broad range of techniques, themes, and aesthetic approaches that can be found across the medium of printmaking. There will also be a brief tour of our printmaking studio and overview of printmaking techniques: screenprints, etchings (intaglio), and lithographs.
In addition, the group exhibition ‘Design in Printmaking: Lorna Livey, Laurynas Navidauskas, Shogo Okada and Yorodeo,’ will be on view at Print Sales Gallery during the Toronto Design Offsite Festival.
This group exhibition features original prints by Canadian artists whose work has a design aesthetic. Each work has a strong sense of design that is either intentional or unintentional. These artists utilize some elements of design—line, shape, form, colour and space—blurring the boundaries of art and design.
