Description

Are you looking for a special and personal way to tell someone how you feel? At Mackenzie House you will print a customized Valentine on an historic, 1850s cast iron press in a recreated mid-Victorian print shop. You will write a message using a straight pen and ink, and seal it all with melted wax.

Mackenzie House is the home of Toronto’s first mayor, the leader of the Rebellion of 1837 and radical journalist, William Lyon Mackenzie. This Greek Revival row house is a hidden architectural gem in the downtown core. Discover middle-class, urban, family life in Victorian Toronto while delving into Mackenzie’s illustrious and contentious career.
