‘Transcience’ is a window installation by the designers at Martin’s Flowers.
Martin’s Flowers uses flowers and organic materials as a medium of expression to evoke different states and emotions. Their daily work in the studio celebrates and marks the emotional states of special life occasions in the more traditional form of a floral bouquet or flower arrangement. For Toronto Design Offsite Festival, Martin’s Flowers has embraced the opportunity to use the materials to create a sculptural piece that evokes a sense of movement and a transition from a state of intense whirlwind energy to one of serenity and calm — a visual depiction of letting go.
Limiting the variety of materials employed in the design allows for a minimalistic expression of simplicity and purity and allows for a transparent and light aesthetic. The ephemeral nature of the materials echoes the impermanence and the transitory nature of emotional states. This installation aims to inspire the viewer with these miracles of nature.
