Description

Roosters are often associated with sun and the dawning of a new day. They can also symbolize confidence, boldness, ingenuity, and resurrection. Employing a variety of paper sculpting and printing techniques, Toronto illustrator Ashley Barron will be constructing a large rooster to display in Labour of Love’s Cabbagetown shop window. Our radiant rooster will be a wake up call for that inner creative creature we all possess to bravely come out and show the world its’ feathers.

Ashley Barron is a Toronto illustrator who specializes in cut-paper collage. In addition to her freelance work, she enjoys teaching paper collage workshops and giving library and school visits. Her most recent work is “Kyle goes alone”, a collage illustrated children’s book.

Labour of Love is a gift and jewellery boutique in Toronto’s historic Cabbagetown neighbourhood, with items perfect for any occasion. They are a proud hub for spotlighting and hosting community events with local makers and designers.
