PechaKucha Night was devised in Tokyo in 2003 as an event for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public. Now they are held in close to 600 cities around the world. Each PechaKucha Night is powered by PechaKucha 20×20, a simple and concise presentation format where you show 20 images, each for 20 seconds. The images advance automatically and you talk along to the images. This presentation format was devised by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham of Klein Dytham architecture. The first PechaKucha Night was held in Tokyo in their multipurpose venue space, SuperDeluxe, in February 2003. Klein Dytham architecture still organize and support the global PechaKucha Night network and organize PechaKucha Night Tokyo.

PechaKucha Nights are informal and fun gatherings where creative people get together and share their ideas, works, thoughts, holiday snaps – just about anything, really. PechaKucha Night Toronto is excited to be celebrating its Vol. 20 (a significant number in the PechaKucha world) at the Toronto Design Offsite Festival. As usual, we have put together a very eclectic list of presenters and presentations. We will introduce our list of presenters on our facebook page ( beginning of January. Tickets are $5.
