Leaders in Toronto’s healthcare food revolution will discuss their work during a free public panel, Healthy Food, Healthy Living: Strengthening Local Food Connections in Healthcare on Tuesday May 15th from 6:30-8pm at City Hall. The event will also be broadcast online as a webinar.

The conversation brings together funders, food service managers, and staff volunteers to share how their innovative healthcare food initiatives have brought more fresh, local, and sustainable food to healthcare facilities across Toronto. The
panel will also discuss with audience members, both live and online, what makes change happen and how to continue to catalyze it going forward.

The event is presented by a trio of food and farming focused organizations: Food Forward, a municipally-focused not-for-profit that advocates and educates for good food for all; Sustain Ontario, a provincial network addressing the intersecting issues related to healthy food and local sustainable agriculture; and Farm to Cafeteria Canada a national network promoting sustainable institutional procurement.

Where do your fees go? All fees go towards paying for hard costs like, web design, graphic design, printed material and advertising.

In its second year, 2012, the festival grew over 150% from 7 exhibitions, events, and talks to 22 events.  Festival attendance grew 45% in 2012, from 11,400 to 15,300 and designer participation grew to 300.

Every year, Ryerson School of Interior Design celebrates the creativity and ingenuity of its students through a three day exhibit. Curated by faculty and organized by students, in[sid] connects students with industry leaders while displaying the diverse design solutions to a broad selection of contemporary issues from all four years of the program. This year the show examines the concept of Impression, concentrating on the transformative effects an experience can have on an individual.

As young designers, we are looking for a way to leave our impression on the world. Impressions have a variety of manifestations – including first, last, fleeting or deep – all of which are formed by our experiences. Experience the impressions the school leaves upon its students, and the impressions graduating students will leave behind at Ryerson.
